i too am a semi obsessive backer-upper, after I suffered a double disk failure and lost a lot of stuff. I also like the online backup services. the one I use (mozy) gives you 2 gb free, and the full unlimited service is only $5 a month. I use this to augment my "offline" backup schedule - and use it just to backup my "documents" & digital camera pics. You can also configure it to just backup files that are less than 6 months old or something, so you can continue with your backup to DVD, removeable disk and so on, that you do on less regular intervals, but you know if you delete a file that you created just a day or two back, you can always get it back. also useful to restore a file you need, say, in work, from home. done that before. anyhoo - use my referral link and we both get 256mb of extra free storage - everyone is a winner. try it out: https://mozy.com/?ref=2ZFVB6
