If you have a WordPress blog you were probably affected by a case of the disappearing widgets earlier this week. I was – and I’m glad it happened.
On looking at my blog stats at the end of the day - a day in which my widgets had returned to default settings, meaning I had my blogroll back on which I recently removed – I noticed that there had indeed been some clickthroughs on the blogroll. I used to think people didn’t really look at it. Now I know they do. So, it’s back.
Furthermore, on going through them out of idle curiosity I discovered some nice techniques for adding digg, del.icio.us, and New PR links to each post. I now have this code all saved in a Word document, ready and waiting for a quick search/replace to add the post slug et voila! promotional links in a trice. Nice.
